How I define "Compassionate Eating"...
Eating without being hard on ourselves.
If we eat something we may not be happy about, let's acknowledge it,
let it go, and move on.
Life's too short to expend energy being upset about a bunch of Oreos we ate! Let's not allow food to dictate our emotions-life's too sweet and beautiful for that!
I believe in an "all foods fit" approach to eating. And I don't prescribe diets or restrictive eating because these don't work-studies have shown this.
Diets and restrictive eating entrench us in the world of
Diet Mentality.....ah....Diet Mentality
....don't get me started!
These approaches often make people feel like they've failed because they couldn't sustain something that was not sustainable!
